Summary
Seeking an Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or similar Engineering student to support a team of ASIC design Engineers through Circuit Evaluation and Reporting in a laboratory environment.
Responsibilities
Primary function involves assisting Design Engineers in providing evaluation and test support under the direction of a Senior Engineer in the following areas:
- Circuit Evaluation
- Create & implement test procedures based on IC specification
- Provide engineers with test data & summaries in an understandable and complete manner
- Test Platform Development & Maintenance
- Create & implement test platforms to evaluate consumer electronics RF & Audio systems
- Maintain, modify & repair test boards
Skills
Formal training or ability & dexterity to quickly learn skills in the following areas is strongly desired:
- SMT Assembly & Rework
Mechanical Assembly
Experience
Candidate would ideally have some understanding of the following through education or practical experience:
- Test Equipment: Spectrum Analyzer, Network Analyzer, Oscilloscope, Audio Analyzer, etc
- Electronics Theory: RF, Digital Audio, Analog Audio and Power Systems theory
- Scripting & Programming Languages: Python, C and Labview
- Data Reporting: Technical Writing, Descriptive & Inferential Statistical Analysis
- PCB Schematic Design: Develop small test fixtures
The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
