Description

As a Project Manager 2, Engineering, you will be part of our New Technology Introduction (NTI) Team.  Our goal is to ensure new technology manufacturing processes are qualified and released to production on time, with low risk and high yield while meeting targeted goals for size, cost and/or performance. Meeting these goals enables highly competitive New Product Introduction (NPI) programs. Skyworks products have a wide range of technologies including Semiconductor Wafer Tech, Advanced Packaging Tech, Compound Semiconductor, SAW and BAW, as well as products pertaining to Manufacturing/Test/Assembly of High-Tech Microelectronics.

In your Project Manager 2 role, you will follow NTI process and drives qualification of multiple new technologies and owns completion of reliability activities from initial Business Case phase to Production phase. NTI PM works in a fast-paced environment and monitors progress of multiple NTI projects in different stages to ensure milestones are met and deliverables are released on time. As NTI Project manager, early identification of risks and working with team to craft mitigation strategies are crucial to ensure healthy execution of the project.  It’s expected to provide feedback to senior leadership and provide routine updates as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Chair New Technology Introduction (NTI) team meetings and driving action items.
  • Work with a cross functional team to accelerate qualification of NTI programs to support launch of new products on time with high yield and competitive quality.
  • Drive multiple NTI projects in different stages from initial Business Case phase to Production phase in a fast-paced environment and monitoring progress of project milestones and deliverables.
  • Manage schedule and cost of qualification efforts and resolving technical issues to ensure process compliance/robustness against specifications.
  • Drive critical path schedule tasks and risk mitigation strategies while optimizing cost, quality and yield.
  • Support material procurement and prototyping of qualification samples.
  • Manage compliance to NTI development process through internal/external audits.
  • Prepare weekly project updates and presentations to share with senior management across different BU’s.

Required Experience and Skills

  • BS degree in Electrical/Electromechanical Engineering, Material Science with 8 years’ experience in project management or product engineering in the semiconductor or similar industry; or MS degree with 6 years’ experience; or PhD with 3 years’ experience.
  • Excellent communications, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, experience with cross-functional teams and flexibility to work with multi-national teams/different time zones.
  • Fast learner and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Desired Experience and Skills

  • Experience with semiconductor process/microfabrication.
  • Knowledge of Project Management tools a plus (Oracle’s Agile PLM software, Planview PPM PRO).

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $124,400$235,700 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
