Description

Position to reside on B1 Day Shift 5:24am-5:35pm Thu, Fri, Sat and every other Wed.

Seeking a self-motivated, enthusiastic team player with a “can-do” attitude and sense of urgency to manage the day-to-day production activities in accordance with company policy and product quality standards.   As a Section Manager, you will manage a team of Fabrication Technicians to create and achieve goals supporting Skyworks’ overall company objectives.  Generate and maintain records, metrics, and reports to communicate production goals and performance against such goals on a daily basis.  Effectively utilize labor hours to maximize line efficiencies, product yields and minimize non-value added activity.  Identify and resolve production related problems by working closely with direct labor work force and support teams to provide constant focus on continuous improvement efforts on existing and new products and processes. Ensure adequate staffing, direction and disciplines are in place on a day-to-day basis. Evaluate employees through performance management and take the necessary steps to reward and/or guidance on employee performance. 

Responsibilities

Leadership
•    Lead by example. 
•    Build trust within in the team and motivate employees
•    Provide training and supervision to enable all employees to gain the highest skill level.
•    Establish a continuous improvement mindset within the team.  
•    Ensure employees maintain current skill levels and complete cross-training requirements and provide growth opportunities.
•    Address any conflicts or challenges that affect the workforce or work environment in an adverse manner.
•    Ensure reward and recognition practices are consistent and fair.

WIP Management
•    Manage and monitor daily moves, velocity and percent defective for each area and take appropriate action.
•    Prioritize/manage workflow in their areas, along with any bottlenecks.
•    Work with other Section Managers/Area Leads to monitor and schedule the workflow that will result in a well-balanced operation. 

Continuous Improvement
•    Participate and/or lead continuous improvement team-based activities.
•    Develop and implement initiatives that will result in improved overall factory efficiencies
•    such as yield, cycle time, productivity equipment utilization, and elimination of non-value added activity.
•    Engage the direct labor work force to ensure their participation in the improvement of overall factory efficiencies.

Communication 
•    Communicate and demonstrate an in-depth understanding of all Fab manufacturing metrics (daily moves, velocity and percent defective).
•    Communicate factory direction and support the programs being developed for the team.
•    Communication of company policy and safety procedures to ensure compliance.
•    Perform passdowns that are effective and complete on a daily basis.
•    Create an environment for two-way communication shift to shift that ensures understanding and agreement of goals, objectives and business unit needs.
•    Assist the Leadership Team in the preparation of data collection for Monthly, Quarterly reports.

Operational Disciplines
•    Ensure work instructions, fab protocol, and wafer-handling procedures are followed within production.
•    Ensure process control procedures are being followed and data integrity is maintained within production.
•    Review and audit manufacturing records and documentation.

Required Experience and Skills

•    Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, with 5 years of experience within a manufacturing environment. 
•    Demonstrated leadership and teambuilding skills.
•    Ability to provide guidance and feedback to help others strengthen specific knowledge/skill areas.
•    Effective verbal and written communicational skills including technical writing and presentation skills.
•    Ability to manage change, create and foster team spirit, along with the ability to develop and coach team members to obtain performance.
•    Possess general knowledge of manufacturing processes and flows which encompasses multiple production areas.
•    Possess strong organizational skills, problem solving skills (8D, Six Sigma, SPC, FMEA) and ability to multi-task.
•    Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Promis and Native Promis.
    

Preferred Experience and Skills
•    3-5 years of related supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.

 

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $87,600$167,900 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others.
