Job Description

Skyworks Solutions is seeking an experienced RF Front-end Module (FEM) design engineer responsible for the development of multi-GHz complex RF T/R modules that consist of power a multi-path T/R switch, low noise amplifiers, power amplifiers, matching circuitry, filters, SMT components, integrated passive devices (IPD), MIPI controls, and an LDO. The designer is required to not only understand characteristics of these FEM building blocks, but also know how to trade off the performance of each building block and optimize the FEM performance to meet and exceed on the customer’s specifications. The FEM design work includes package/substrate design using MCM/PCB layout tools, floorplan for the FEM, and work closely with IC designer or a building block designer to optimize FEM performance and ensure meet or exceed customer specifications. Supervision of lab evaluation and hands-on tuning of prototype hardware are required as the design validation on the path to product samples.  The candidate should have a general understanding of product development flow in high-volume semiconductor products and have an eye for details while understanding the importance of time to market.
 

Desired Experience

  • BS with 7 years of related experience or MSEE/Ph.D. with 5 years related experiences.
  • Experience with passive component designs including couplers, balun, filters, and matching networks. 
  • Expertise with Keysight ADS, and/or Cadence and associated simulation engines and data displays.
  • Experience and fluency with 3-D and 2.5-D EM design/simulation tools. For example, ANSYS HFSS, Keysight FEM, Keysight Momentum, Cadence EMX etc. 
  • Experience with layout planning & MCM layout tools. 
  • Familiarity with thermal design techniques and considerations

Desired Experience Continued

  • Basic knowledge of on chip ESD protection strategies.
  • Ability to execute project tasks with minimum supervision.
  • Strong Lab skills to assist with characterization and debugging using RF test equipment.
  • Familiar with the use of load pull techniques to evaluate device and PA performance.
  • Team player with a focus on product requirements schedule.
  • Solid Oral and written communication skills.
