Job Description

If you are you looking to work on a wide range of technologies & architectures for next generation products, the Connectivity Technology group is the place for you.  As part of a small, highly skilled team you will work to verify performance of next generation FEMs and ICs. 

As a Technology team validation Engineer you will be uniquely focused on developing advanced test solutions to validate new IC’s and IP for existing and emerging standard.  This role will be critical in supporting development of next-generation, highly integrated RF Front-end (RFFE) Modules for Connectivity applications. You will work with System and RF Module Engineers to translate customer specifications into product requirements both at multi-chip module (MCM) and building block level, including advanced RFICs and complex filters. You will develop test scripts and collect and analyze critical test data and use in validated multi-chip module designs to drive design direction. You will work closely with the MSB test system enablement team, technicians and Module Engineers in lab for prototype development, e.g. evaluation, trouble-shooting, & optimization.  This role will keenly focus on prove-out of new IP while benchmarking against existing solutions.  You will also assist in final data analysis, summary, and presentations to the design & product teams.

Qualifications and Skills

Qualifications:
- BS with 8+ years of experience, MSEE with +5 years 
-Strong understanding in RF/microwave fundamentals and circuit theory
-Solid understanding in module building blocks, including Power Amplifiers, Low Noise Amplifiers, RF Switches and Couplers, Filters and Multi-chip Module
-Ability to define required tests, create/modify programs that drive automated test solutions, drive Design Verification Test (DVT) to provide feedback to design engineers
-Ability to work in lab using standard RF instruments for data collection, trouble-shooting, circuit performance evaluation and optimization
- Ability to complete Design Scorecard, Customer Compliance Matrix and Data Package summarizing product performance and gaps
 
Preferred Skills:
- Good understanding of RF systems and familiarity with cellular standards and RFFE module requirements
- Familiar with Skyworks software tools, including GUTs and STC, and scripting languages such as C/C++
- Familiar with lab instruments including Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, Digital Receivers, Noise Figure Analyzers and Load-pull Tuners

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $110,600$210,600 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
