We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented, hands-on, results-driven Engineering Manager who is passionate about making our customers wildly successful, welcomes challenges with enthusiasm and thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, to become an integral part of our engineering team. This role will work with internal and external stakeholders to define, develop, and support the product life cycle necessary for customers integrating Skyworks’ solutions.   Primary responsibilities include directing, leading and managing the technical activities of a team of engineers.   
Responsibilities

  • Recruit and manage a team and projects in the design of analog/mixed-signal circuits, including design capture, layout, testing, evaluation, and debugging of prototype ICs and design support for mass production. 
  • Lead design teams through the product development cycle, from inception to completion. 
  • Ensure design schedules and execution quality meet corporate requirements. Participate in product definition, market studies, business case studies and customer visits for new products and provide input on future products or technologies. 
  • Work with other departments, including marketing and applications, to promote technical vision of product. 
  • Work closely with multiple design centers around the world to implement platform execution. Manage the development of innovative new designs for patenting or protecting as trade secret. 
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership and training for design staff. Determine design approaches and parameters for design team. 
  • Attend design reviews to provide input and monitor the quality and effectiveness of design reviews. 
  • Oversee evaluation of design results by laboratory measurements of ICs to assure technical objectives are met. 
  • Supervise the work of other subordinate employees.

Experience and Education

Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related degree)
8+ years industry experience and 3+ years of management or technical leadership
Experience managing priorities and performance of a technical team
Excellent customer interaction and support skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong analog and digital circuit fundamentals
Understanding of PCB design and layout techniques
Experience preparing technical reports for peers, customers and management


Preferred Skills
Experience managing a technical team that provides collateral and support for customers on accelerated development schedules
Experience defining product requirements based on customer feedback
Desire and creativity to win and grow our business in an ever-changing market as a key member of a dynamic cross-functional team focused on success and growth

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $122,000$231,000 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others. Employees are eligible to participate in an incentive plan, and certain roles are also eligible for additional awards, including recognition and stock.
