Job Description: 

Description

The Engineering Technician 3 supports product, package, and process qualification activities within the Reliability Engineering organization. This role is responsible for executing and monitoring reliability stress tests on semiconductor devices while ensuring compliance with internal procedures and industry standards. Working in an on-site laboratory environment, the technician collaborates closely with team members to perform qualification readiness activities, maintain testing schedules, document results, and support day-to-day laboratory operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform qualification and qualification readiness activities for new products, packages, and processes.
  • Configure, load, and monitor High Temperature Operating Life (HTOL) boards and burn-in ovens.
  • Configure and load Highly Accelerated Stress Test (HAST) boards and chambers.
  • Execute Temperature Humidity Bias (THB) and High Temperature Storage (HTS) testing.
  • Ensure devices are tested in accordance with established procedures and industry standards.
  • Update databases and tracking systems with qualification status and test results.
  • Perform operational testing, fault isolation, and root cause investigations on equipment and systems.
  • Utilize laboratory and diagnostic equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and specialized test apparatus.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Associate degree or two-year technical degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Electronics Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience in an electronics laboratory or test environment.
  • Strong written communication and documentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow technical procedures, work instructions, and engineering specifications.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with engineers and cross-functional teams.

Desired Experience and Skills

  • Experience operating and monitoring environmental and reliability stress tests.
  • Experience with semiconductor product reliability testing and qualification methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with HTOL, Burn-In, HAST, THB, HTS, temperature cycling, or other environmental stress testing methods.
  • Familiarity with reliability qualification standards and best practices.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical or electromechanical test systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Experience using laboratory instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, data acquisition systems, and specialized test equipment.
  • Experience supporting engineering development, prototype builds, or test equipment setup and validation.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements in a laboratory or manufacturing environment.
