Job Description

 

Why this position matters 

The next few years will be very exciting at Skyworks, driven in part by the revenue growth and market position of the Power division. We work with cutting-edge automotive manufacturers, industrial giants, and alternative energy pioneers; and you’ll make an immediate impact by driving our flagship product line, all the way from product definition to launch. This is a high visibility role with executive-level exposure which requires constant interaction across multiple departments including engineering, sales, operations marketing, and finance. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of power conversion, electrical vehicles, business operations, and marketing activities; and is accustomed to cross functional team leadership, frequent presentations, negotiation, customer and partner interactions, and travel. 

 

Role and Responsibilities 
Manages product line throughout the entire product life-cycle including strategic and tactical activities such as product definition, development, launch, and key customer support.
Work closely with marketing and sales teams to design in compelling new products and solutions across a diverse set of customers and partners.
Regularly interacts with executives, partners, and major customers.  Interactions involve influencing and persuading other level managers.
Defines products with customers by translating customer needs into technical specifications for product development teams.
Develops data sheets, product roadmaps, and product launch plans with Sales, Marketing and Design Engineering teams.
Drives reference design activities and partnerships with Marketing and Applications teams.
Steers the activities of a broad functional area through several department managers within the business unit and broader company having overall responsibility for planning, budgeting, implementing and maintaining costs, methods and employees.
Exceptional communication, oral and written skills, including crisp, efficient, presentation techniques.
Ability to maintain focus, composure and provide leadership under time pressure, dealing with demanding internal and external customers, and other sources of stress.
Ability and willingness to travel worldwide for customer meetings, training events, and other activity supporting business goals.  

 

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of BSEE +8 years or equivalent
  • MSTC, MSM, or MBA preferred with 6+ years
  • Semiconductor marketing and product management experience preferred

 

Indicators of Success

  • Product-level marketing experience in one or more of the following areas: isolation IC’s, power management IC’s, EV automotive subsystems.
  • Strategic thinker who can creatively envision new product ideas that are customer and application-driven.
  • Ability to understand IC architectures and mixed-signal products, and able to interact on a technical level with engineering teams.
  • Business oriented. Entrepreneurial thinking.
  • Strong customer interfacing skills; Excellent English language capabilities required.
  • Excellent time management and project prioritization skills.

 

 

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $108,500$206,400 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others. Employees are eligible to participate in an incentive plan, and certain roles are also eligible for additional awards, including recognition and stock.
