Job Description
Join the team making EVs go farther, artificial intelligence more efficient, and industrial systems smarter! As a Systems Engineer, you will be part of a flexible team with critical roles at every stage of product development, from defining new products to validating them against market and design requirements, and ultimately promoting them through thought leadership. To be successful in these roles, our Systems Engineers become experts in our target applications, markets, and customers.
Responsibilities
- Identify, cultivate, and maintain system and market knowledge through academic literature reviews, competitive analysis, product teardowns, customer visits, etc.
- Collaborate with IC designers, product managers, and application engineers to steer the roadmap and define new products that add value to identified systems.
- Perform PCB schematic capture and assist with layout and assembly.
- Assist your teammates in validating new products.
- Develop and debug software and firmware.
- Write technical content such as datasheet topics, whitepapers, and articles.
- Present at technical conferences, symposiums, trade shows, and customer sites.
- Collaborate with design partners to develop, test, and promote reference designs using Skyworks’ products.
Required Experience and Skills
- Bachelor’s + 2 years of experience or master’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
- Insatiable curiosity to independently learn and test new technologies and applications.
- Detail-oriented and thorough researcher with solid reporting skills.
- Self-starter with excellent time management skills
- Creative and strategic thinker able to envision new products and features.
- Experience with schematic capture and PCB design tools.
- Analog and digital circuit analysis skills.
- Expertise in board-level power electronics design (power converters, inverters, etc.)
- Experienced technical and persuasive writing skills.
- Comfortable presenting to large audiences with any level of knowledge and experience
Desired Experience and Skills
- Experience with programming or scripting languages (C, Python, etc.)
- Experience designing and programming for FPGAs and CPLDs.
- Experience interacting directly with customers.
The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $76,100 - $138,900 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others.
