Principal Layout Designer



- Hands-on experience with custom analog and/or RF CMOS IC layout.

- Knowledge of layout techniques used in matching, isolation, shielding, and minimizing capacitance and/or resistance in specified interconnect.

- Fully understands resistance, parasitic capacitance, and electromigration DC and AC rules and concepts.

- Ability to recognize circuit structures that require matching or other special treatment w/o engineering intervention.

- Knowledge of CMOS device structures and the layers that generally comprise them.

- Knowledge of LDE and DFM effects and ways to mitigate same.

- Understanding of the use and implementation of DNW.

- Detailed understanding of design rules typical to smaller process nodes (below 130nm).

- Proficiency in Cadence Virtuoso and Calibre DRC/LVS/PEX design and verification flows.

- Strong team work ethic and good people/communication skills.



As a layout designer you will be responsible for the detailed transistor (and sometimes polygon) level layout of precision analog and RF custom integrated circuits such as PLLs, LDO, DACs, ADC, filters, bandgasp, biases, and custom HV logic. You will use a detailed understanding of the foundry process design rules to create layouts that are correct and free from defects with the aid of Calibre verification software. You will collaborate with other layout designers on block and top level designs as needed. You will work closely with design engineers to ensure that the final layout meets design requirements.


Education and Experience:

5+ years experience

Bachelors degree in electrical engineering preferred.
