Summary

 

We are looking for a summer intern (2024) to join our Power applications engineering team.  In this role, you will be working with engineers responsible for validating our new products to ensure they meet our performance criteria.  Our isolation products are used in some of the biggest names in EVs, solar, and even rocket ships.  This internship is an opportunity for the student to learn and gain valuable experience working with semiconductors, lab equipment, and automation in a fun, collaborative environment.

Key Areas of Contribution

 

  • Devise and document test methods

  • Design PCBs (schematic capture, layout review) and test fixtures for lab use

  • Automate data collection and analysis to solve problems

  • Present your work to the broader team

Other Aspects of the Position

 

  • You should have excellent written and oral communication skills and should be comfortable in explaining technical concepts to a wide range of audiences including more senior engineers and management teams.

  • We foster a culture of accountability and promote creative problem-solving; therefore, being resourceful and having great initiative will enable success in this position.

  • You should have a disciplined approach to your work.  We track and administer our work using task management tools and other collaboration tools to properly document work plans and work outcomes.

Qualification and Skills

 

  • Working towards an undergraduate or graduate degree in EE, CE, or equivalent

  • Strong understanding of electrical circuit fundamentals

  • Programming skills (Python, C, C++ or equivalent)

  • Basic understanding of FPGA fundamentals

  • Ability to troubleshoot and debug complex systems (hardware and software).

  • Printed circuit board schematic capture and layout

Preferable Skills

 

  • Experience with lab equipment, measurements

  • Interface standards such as SPI, I2C

  • A great attitude with an eagerness to learn and facility to adapt to changes in plans and new technical challenges
