Description

If you are a motivated engineer with skills and interest in leading the verification, testing, and qualification of analog and RF IP that pushes the bounds of performance in most of the phones sold today, then Skyworks’ IP team is looking for you! As part of the company’s IP development team you will work on analog control blocks and RF technologies for all of Skyworks’ RF products and contribute to the development of IP circuit block designs that are used across the company.  

You’ll work alongside analog and RF design engineers on the latest analog and RF technologies, tackling the company’s biggest challenges and pushing the performance of all our future products.  This is a great opportunity for a motivated engineer interested in analog and RF design to join a design team with opportunities to grow and contribute to simulation and design projects. 

You will help verify our IP in both the lab and in simulation.  You will lead the testing and qualification of IP in a variety of SOI and bulk CMOS processes. You will also lead the development of our IP lab verification methodology.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the lab testing and evaluation of analog IP including fuses and other OTP/NVM, temperature sensors, LNA bias DACs, NVG charge pumps, MIPI interfaces, SWIPI interfaces
  • Lead the lab testing and evaluation of RF IP, including LNA and switch designs in new technologies
  • Lead the lab testing and evaluation of fuses and other OTP/NVM IPs
  • Verify analog and RF IP designs in simulation
  • Lead the OTP lab verification qualification process to ensure reliability of polysilicon fuses across billions of fuses in multiple Si and SOI processes
  • Coordinate design of experiments (DOE) testing to select the correct programming voltage/current profile of fuses
  • Work with test engineering team to gather qualification data on blown and unblown fuses
  • Work with our foundry partners and modelling team on defining the fuse blow recipe and review foundry-provided data
  • Ensure OTP qualification schedules meet the required product sample and tape-out schedules
  • Work with the IP design engineers to ensure the functionality and reliability of new IP designs
  • Maintain qualification, lab review and design review records in our IP catalog
  • Contribute to IP verification in simulation before tape-out
  • Improve IP management and reuse methodology
  • Contribute to the design of analog and RF IP designs

Required Experience and Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, documentation, and presentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail, meticulous documentation standards and great project management skills
  • Ability to work within a diverse and cross-functional team-structured environment
  • A positive, can-do attitude
  • Experience with analog IC test and verification engineering
  • BS + 5 years of experience/MS +3 years of experience in EE or similar field
  • Hands on experience using analog lab equipment
  • Python Programming and data analysis
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis
  • Ability to use Jira for project and task management 

Desired Experience and Skills

  • Experience designing analog IP blocks: OTP fuse block, Bandgap, ADC, DAC, temperature sensor, LDO, TIA 
  • Background designing RF circuits such as LNA, RF Switches or PA
  • Layout floor planning and design experience
  • Experience in mixed-signal verification including SystemVerilog and Cocotb Python test benches
  • Ability to administer Jira and write automations for project management
  • Fluency in virtuoso design environment from schematic capture to GDSII
  • Experience simulating and verifying analog and RF circuits and systems in Cadence Virtuoso and Keysight ADS
  • Experience leading silicon device qualification
  • Experience with analog IC wafer probing
  • Verilog-A modeling 

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $91,200 - $177,200 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
