Overview:

Skyworks Cedar Rapids design center is seeking an Automation Engineer intern to support layout team automation tasks. Job Responsibilities

  • Work closely with our senior CAD engineer in the development of programs and scripts for use by layout staff during their design of wireless consumer electronic products.  

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated scripts, tools, and frameworks providing solutions to streamline repetitive tasks and enhance operational efficiency.  

  • Position requires remote interfacing with domestic and international design engineering and layout teams across multiple design centers in different time zones. 

  • Problem-solving mindset and the ability to analyze complex technical issues to provide effective solutions. 

  • Ability to balance multiple initiatives, deliverables, and deadlines while staying organized in a fast-paced environment 

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or equivalent.

  • Good experience and competency using C++, Python, TCL, Perl, Cadence Skill languages
  • Understanding of UNIX operating system and scripting languages. 
  • Understanding of SQL databases, tables, and other data structures. 
  • Ability to design UI interfaces and Web applications.
  • Previous experience with development of CAD applications for layout tasks is a plus. 
  • Good understanding of semiconductor design applications such as schematic capture, and physical layout tools is a plus.
  • Problem-solving mindset and the ability to analyze complex technical issues to provide effective solutions.
  • Ability to balance multiple initiatives, deliverables, and deadlines while staying organized in a fast-paced environment

 

The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
