Summary

Skyworks Cedar Rapids design center is seeking a Lead Layout Designer to aid in the layout and verification of integrated circuits.

Job Responsibilities

  • You will work closely with design engineers in the layout and verification of RF, analog and mixed signal integrated circuits for wireless consumer electronic products. 
  • Position requires remote interfacing with domestic and international design engineering and layout teams, in multiple design centers, across multiple time zones.
  • Layout of integrated circuits including the ability to place and route active and passive devices.
  • Prepare layout data for release to foundry preferred.
  • Use Calibre verification tool to perform layout vs. schematic (LVS).
  • Perform design rule checks and read electrical schematics and netlist.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent a plus
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in the layout of integrated circuits.
  • Previous experience in the layout of LNAs preferred.
  • Able to plan the placement of major circuit components in an overall physical design.
  • Top level integration experience is also a plus.
  • Previous experience in the preparation of layout data for release to foundry preferred.
  • Possess understanding of semiconductor processes like CMOS and SOI processes and how the physical layout can affect circuit performance of circuits like power amplifiers and switches.
  • Proven experience and competent in using the following tools: Cadence and Calibre.
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written.

 

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $110,600 - $210,600 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
