Job Description

Skyworks is seeking a skilled Staff RF Module Design Engineer with expertise in RF circuits and product development with a strong emphasis on co-design and optimization using acoustic wave filter technologies (SAW/BAW). You will work with a high-performing team creating next-generation cellular handsets and wireless communication devices, taking part in the design, simulation, and integration of PA, RF switches, front-end modules, and acoustic filters into holistic RF solutions.
You will contribute to all phases of product development, from concept through volume production, while adhering to best engineering practices to ensure high performance, reliability, and cost efficiency. Your role will focus on both circuit-level design and module integration for high-volume cellular applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Co-Design and develop PA, LNA, RF switches, and acoustic filters (SAW, BAW) for RF front-end modules, ensuring best-in-class performance, size, and cost efficiency.
• Conduct design reviews and present quantitative data to demonstrate compliance with internal/customer specifications based on simulation and measured results.
• Develop and improve filter and module performance through new architectures and ideas, maintaining a competitive edge in the market.
• Collaborate closely with multi-discipline teams, including module, systems, PA, LNA, switch, and MCM design teams, to optimize co-design performance.
• Lead efforts in the simulation and EM analysis of filters, multi-chip modules (MCM), and integrated systems using Agilent ADS/Cadence and 2.5/3D EM tools such as Momentum or HFSS.
• Ensure first-pass success by refining design methodologies, lab-debugging prototypes, and continuously improving production yield.
• Work with fabrication teams to ensure continuous advancements in technology, ensuring scalability and sustainability of products.

Required Qualifications

• PhD in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 2+ years of experience; MS with 5+ years; or BS with 8+ years in RF/acoustic filter design or RF Front End Circuits development.
• Proven experience in PA, LNA, RF switches, and multi-chip module (MCM) design, including filter and matching networks for fully integrated front-end modules.
• Expertise in acoustic filter (SAW/BAW) design and multiplexer systems, with practical knowledge of impedance matching, distributed systems, passive RLC, noise, linearity, and bandwidth optimization.
• Strong hands-on experience with RF simulation tools like Agilent ADS/GoldenGate/Spectre RF, as well as EM tools such as Momentum, Sonnet, or HFSS.
• Strong lab skills for RF product characterization and troubleshooting, from prototypes to mass production.

Preferred Qualifications

•    Strong understanding of RF systems, cellular standards, and a track record of prior RF filter/multiplexer development.
•    Deep knowledge of device and process technologies, as well as experience in RF integration for wireless communication products.
•    Demonstrated experience in project management and leading teams in multi-disciplinary RF environments.
