Position Summary

Skyworks Greensboro Design Center is seeking an RF Systems Engineer responsible for driving the long-term architecture roadmaps, setting device specifications, defining validation requirements, and guiding our customers towards Skyworks vision of the mobile communications future.  You will be balancing customer needs, marketing plans, Skyworks technologies, design capabilities, and market windows as you analyze communication systems, RF modules, and customer applications to help create a winning product for Skyworks and our customers.  You will be working alongside a supportive, multidisciplined, cross-functional team of engineers as you help develop the next generation of mobile communication RF modules.   Greensboro, NC is a diverse city, rich in history, a vibrant culture, thriving economy, and centrally located between some of the best mountain and beach destinations.  The temperate climate allows for yearlong outdoor enjoyment of the many regional parks and trails.   #LI-DB1

Job Responsibilities

  • Work closely with design engineering, marketing, and product teams to define RF system architectures and technology roadmaps for mobile and automotive communication products
  • Creation of detailed specifications and validation requirements for RF front end modules, power amplifiers, filters, and various RF components
  • Support test and validation teams in verifying product compliance to internal and customer driven requirements through RF test assistance and data analysis
  • System level analysis and simulation in areas such as signal studies, RF link budgeting, Noise analysis, non-linear PA modeling, and radio co-existence which can be used to make product design and performance trade-off decisions
  • Assist applications engineering and marketing teams with the successful integration of Skyworks modules into customer applications through RF architecture studies and performance analysis  

Qualifications

  • Good understanding of technologies and components used in RF Modules including Power Amplifiers, RF switches, Filters, LNAs, couplers, and DC power solutions
  • Comprehension of cellular systems (5G NR, LTE, WCDMA, CDMA, GSM/EDGE), their standards, and an understanding of key requirements and conformance documents
  • Experience in specifying, simulating, designing, and evaluating RF products
  • Knowledge of RF power amplifiers, filters, and transceiver circuits desired
  • Experience with using software tools (SystemVue, MATLAB, Python, C++, EXCEL) for RF system and signal analysis
  • Background in RF measurements using Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Vector Signal Analyzers, Signal Generators, and Universal Communication Analyzers
  • A good understanding of radio architectures and how design trade-offs can impact system performance and component requirements
  • Knowledge of mobile communication modulations, waveform formats, and standards pertaining to state-of-the-art mobile smartphones
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment
  • BSEE with 8+ years’ experience or MSEE and 6+ years’ experience or PhD and 3+ years

 

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $110,600$210,600 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
