About The Business Unit

 

The Skyworks AIS division is a producer of world class mixed signal chips including wireless and audio solutions.  Our advanced audio, voice, speech and artificial intelligent solutions combine breakthrough ultra-low power analog circuits, highly efficient power management systems and custom hardware accelerators to enable smart acoustic signal processing and AI functionality.  At Skyworks AIS our team has all aspects of hardware, software, and system implementation functions.  From design, implementation, validation and testing, we cover the entire product cycle which makes it a great place to gain experience in IC development.

Position Summary and Responsibilities

 

You will be responsible for working on the current design cycle for our low power audio chip.  This could include pre- and post-silicon testing/validation, data collection and characterization of the device under different operating conditions, correlation between real silicon and the design environment, and reporting your findings.  This work will include developing tests, scripting, debugging, and documentation of your work.  Expect to collaborate with other team members and review your findings regularly with the group.

Preferred Skills

 

  • Hands-on measurement and data collection with common lab equipment

  • Python programming for test automation and data collection

  • Simulation-based digital circuit verification with Verilog and System Verilog

  • Programming ability in C for in embedded processors

  • Self-learning, problem solving and verbal and written communication

Internship Details

 

The summer internship duration is 10-12 weeks.  Candidates would expect to start in May or June 2024 and complete their internship in August or September 2024.

Candidates pursuing Bachelors, Masters, and PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering will all be considered for this position.  Preference is for candidates to have at least two years of undergraduate studies prior to the start of the internship.

The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
