Description
The AIS group within Skyworks is innovating market-specific mixed-signal system on chips (SoCs) for audio and voice applications spanning smart speakers and microphones, wired/wireless headsets, virtual assistants, and intelligent gaming controllers. Our advanced, proprietary protocol wireless audio, voice, speech, and AI solutions combine breakthrough ultra-low power analog circuits, highly efficient power management and custom hardware accelerators to enable smart acoustic signal processing and AI functionality. The platform SDK Firmware group creates the core operating system and driver components and follows this through to BSPs and SDK packages. We simplify the task of using these parts in a wide range of designs. We are looking for a Summer/Fall Co-Op who is available from July to December 2025 to work onsite at our Hillsboro, Oregon office.
Responsibilities

Learn and participate in developing and debugging code, tools and scripts for embedded processors on our SoCs.

Work on-site with seasoned professionals and interact with subject-matter experts.

Willing to work in a team, share knowledge and collaborate with others.
Required Experience and Skills
-
Currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering (or related) MS or PhD programs.

Available from July to December 2025

Strong career interest in embedded systems, computer architecture, firmware development and operating systems.

Willing to work in a team, share knowledge and collaborate with others.

Experience with C programming required. Python programming skills is a plus.
Desired Experience and Skills

Hands-on experience in a lab using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers is a plus.

Experience working in a Linux environment will be a plus.

RTOS knowledge/interest will be a big plus.

ARM architecture knowledge is preferred.

Experience with peripherals like SPI, I2C, UART and I2S will be a big plus.
The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
