Acoustic Principal Engineer

The candidate will participate in key activities in the technology development of piezoelectric bulk acoustic resonators (BAW) including device characterization, modeling and EDA support. The candidate will work collaboratively with other modeling, process, testing, and layout engineers.

Job Responsibilities
• Support the development of next generation BAW technology
• Design and tape out new test structures to characterize BAW devices
• Work with test engineers to define, test, and characterize devices and filters, and summarize results
• Write code to automate data collection, develop models, and perform parameter fitting to the models
• Develop and perform Multiphysics FEM (Finite Element Modeling) of 2D and 3D BAW devices to solve both linear and nonlinear problems
• Assist with device failure analysis under high-power stress testing
• Analyze trade-offs among performance, manufacturability, size, schedule, and cost

Job Requirements
o Ph.D. degree in engineering plus 2 years of relevant experience, or Bachelor/MS degree in engineering plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience
o Proficiency with FEM tools, such as COMSOL and HFSS
o Proficient in statistical analysis tools (e.g. MATLAB, Python, JMP, etc.) to drive modeling, data collection, and data analysis
o A broad understanding of multiple disciplines including a mastery of basic concepts in physics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, & software
o Excellent written and verbal communication skills and solid teamwork & leadership skills
o Ability to maintain focus and to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities

• Desired Additional Skills
o Knowledge in the physics and modeling of BAW and/or RFMEMS resonators, or relevant MEMS devices
o Hands-on experiences in Cadence layout and SKILL language coding
