BAW filter NPI engineer

This Acoustics NPI engineer position will be working as a core team member in Skyworks' acoustic filter and RF front-end module development to bring up our product performance to best-in-class and seamlessly release into high volume manufacturing. You will be working closely with engineers across multiple functional teams (design, process, test, IT, manufacturing) on a filter performance improvement including a new technology planning and a new design technology/procedure proposal, on filter specification finalization with filter and module characterization data analysis, and on a product development efficiency improvement with streamlining and automating workflow. This position will provide you a comprehensive experience on acoustic filter development cycle and its application.

Responsibilities

Having affinity with innovative solutions which can be applied throughout development to high-volume manufacturing, you will ensure a seamless coordination across various department in a multicultural environment with teams like Filter designer, Module designer, Device engineers, Process experts, Program Management and Operations.  The job will involve the following functions:

    • Work with design engineering and assist in transition of design prototypes into cost efficient and high-volume manufacturable products
    • Lead and coordinate the Product Readiness including statistical inline data analysis: Capability, Tolerance Chain Analysis between Process and Product, Reliability at the different stages of the technology development to achieve Cpk and yield targets during NPI and Ramp-Up phase.
    • Identify potential risks and challenges in the NPI process and develop mitigation plans.
    • Collaborate and openly debate with team to manage projects, solve problems, discuss challenging issues, and learn more about critical issues as a group.
    • Implement or improve solutions to minimize disruptions in the NPI workflow.
    • Identify and drive continuous improvement in your organization, NPI process and associated department through feedback loops to capture lessons learned from each NPI cycle. This requires a strong understanding on acoustic filter mechanism for leading failure analysis.

Job Requirements:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Must have 5 years of direct relevant experience.
  • Highly desire to possess more than 2 years of experience in BAW or SAW filter design for RF front end modules which is including CAD layout and photo mask tapeout process as well as filter circuit topology and resonator design optimization.
  • Requires a good understanding on acoustic resonator/filter performance and its impact to module performance.
  • Requires a good communication skill to enable understanding a difficulty/priority on each of multiple functional teams and get them aligned on Product development.
  • Required Software Skills: Keysight ADS, Cadence, JMP-SAS, HFSS

 

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $89,100$172,100 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
