Description
Skyworks Solutions, Inc., a leader in the semiconductor industry, is seeking a highly motivated and talented Supply Chain Specialist 2 - Data Science to join our dynamic team in Irvine, CA. This role is ideal for a recent PhD graduate with a passion for data science, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML) who wants to contribute to cutting-edge projects within our supply chain operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement advanced data science models to optimize supply chain processes.
- Utilize linear programming (LP), Python, AI/ML, and SQL to analyze large datasets and derive actionable insights.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deploy AI/ML solutions, including Agentic AI and Generative AI, to enhance supply chain efficiency and resilience.
- Conduct research and stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in data science and AI/ML technologies relevant to supply chain management.
- Perform data extraction, cleansing, and preprocessing to ensure data quality and integrity.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to communicate findings and support decision-making processes.
- Take lead and participate in the automation of supply chain workflows and procedures. Leverage / follow change control processes, SDLC processes including documentation, testing, code review etc.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of data science methodologies and tools. Collaborate with other data scientists within Skyworks.
Required Experience and Skills
- Position requires a BS and 5 years experience (preference for PhD) in Data Science, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Production Eng, Operations Research, or a related field is required.
- Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and data analysis libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn.
- Experience with linear programming (LP) and optimization techniques.
- Knowledge of AI/ML frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras.
- Familiarity with supply chain concepts and principles is preferred but not required.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and within a team.
- Strong communication skills to effectively present complex data and insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- A proactive attitude and a keen interest in exploring innovative solutions for supply chain challenges.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $89,100 - $172,100 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others. Employees are eligible to participate in an incentive plan, and certain roles are also eligible for additional awards, including recognition and stock.
