Job Description


Skyworks is seeking a Director, BAW New Technology Yield Engineering with long-term experience in a full range of high-volume semiconductor yield and quality improvement responsibilities.  The individual will work with a cross-functional team through product and process introduction to high-volume manufacturing and be responsible for identifying opportunities to improve yield and quality to deliver highly reliable products to customers with manufacturing cost-control drivers.  The successful candidate will have demonstrated program management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to apply process-control and problem-solving methodologies to achieve business objectives.
The Director of BAW New Technology Yield Engineering will report to the Sr. Director of BAW Technology and drive Yield and Quality improvement on the BAW technologies. The position is based in Osaka, Japan.
•    Assess, develop and grow a strong Yield and Quality team within Skyworks BAW Manufacturing focused on the introduction and ramping of new technologies.
•    Develop structure around teams to support rapid growth in capacity & capability.
•    Evolve a process control and quality culture.
•    Drive continuous improvement and systematic problem-solving approaches.
•    Ensuring DFX principles are used as part of the development process for products/technologies.
•    Develop product yield and CONQ improvement structure and methodology.

Education, Experience, and Skills
•    B.S. in Material Science, Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering or related field. 
M.S. or Ph. D. preferred
•    Minimum of 10 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, including at least 5 years of experience in technical and/or project management
•    Strong knowledge of semiconductor wafer processing and interaction between process and electrical behavior. Experience with RF MEMS is desired
•    Strong cross-functional teamwork, collaboration, interpersonal, written, and business skills.  Capable in both English and Japanese
•    Good data analysis, problem-solving, and communication skills
•    Experience in improving process stability (CP/CPK) and yield (DFM/DFY) of RF or semiconductor devices through fab flow/processes
