Role Overview

The Director of Enterprise Data & Analytics serves as the lead strategist to identify, design, define, and operationalize data and analytics strategy for the organization to ensure that the requirements for the company are met. The Director will report directly to the CIO to achieve the best possible information technology outcomes for our business initiatives and will work with the business leads to adjust and adopt technologies wherever possible to maximize efficiencies and costs.

This is a unique opportunity to take the company’s data function and capabilities from start-up to fruition. This will involve envisioning and executing on our enterprise data function and data capabilities roadmap and partnering closely with cross-functional teams and leadership to heighten data-driven decision-making.
The Director of Enterprise Data & Analytics will play a key role in advancing objectives and in delivering the value of a more strategic, integrated approach to global information technology. The incumbent will work closely with senior leaders in Information Technology and with colleagues globally. 

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
•    Set the strategy, roadmap and key milestones to operationalize a vision which delivers business value by innovative use of data, including:
•    Data architecture
•    Data integration and analytics solutions and services
•    Analytics platforms, tools, architecture and engineering
•    Management of data and analytics products
•    Data stewardship, data analytics and enablement, data science, and data/AI operations
•    Hands-on experience working at a high level in Data architecture, Data integration, Data science, Master Data Management, and similar analytical workloads.
•    Azure skills highly preferred, including provisioning, configuring, and developing solutions in ADL, ADF, ADW etc.
•    In-depth understanding of database structure principles.
•    Hands-on experience using MS SQL Server, Oracle or similar RDBMS platforms.
•    Distributed data processing of big data batch or streaming pipelines
•    Support in execution of critical analytics projects, driving insights for functional leaders and the executive team; not afraid to lean in on analytics projects alongside team management
•    Partner with our backend tech team in reviewing, designing, and optimizing our data architecture and ETL pipelines; flexibility to take more or less responsibility over data engineering depending on skillset
•    Provide leadership and oversight to teams that work on large data sets of structured, semi-structured and unstructured data to discover data insights and collaborate with business partners to deliver business value through these insights
•    Lead team to define, document and standardize business needs, business processes, flows and diagram within new programs/projects
•    Own strategic decisions for our data analytics infrastructure such as analytics tool selection and design; flexibility to take responsibility overall system/application architecture depending on skillset
•    Lead team to define, document and standardize business needs, business processes, flows and diagram within new deployments
•    Recommends solutions to identified problems
•    Participates in cross-functional, cross- discipline project teams to better leverage the existing systems
•    Identifies gaps and addresses them actively in collaboration with the project team
•    Coordinates information/data changes that occur as part of system lifecycle to ensure consistency
•    Recognizes and identifies potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed, especially regarding future business expansion

Job Requirements

o    Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field; MS preferred
o    Must have 10 years of IT leadership experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

o    Proven track record of leveraging the expertise of functional stakeholders, ideally at both leadership and technical/operational levels. 
o    Azure SQL Data Warehouse
o    Azure Data Factory
o    Azure Data Lake
o    Azure Analysis Services
o    Databricks/Spark or Synapse Analytics Gen3
o    Python or Scala (Python preferred)
o    PowerShell scripting
o    Team management and development
o    Data Profiling / Modeling proficiency
o    Basic understanding of Azure Tenants, Resource Groups, Resources, ACL, and configuration of resources for interoperability
o    Power BI
o    Proven ability to create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture. 
o    Demonstrated experience leading teams in the selection, implementation, support, and enhancement of complex IT systems across a variety of hosting environments (cloud and on premise), infrastructures, architectures, technical frameworks, and support models
o    Experience in creating new resource capacity within an existing team structure 
o    Excellent oral and written communications skills
o    Excellent presentation and public speaking skills
o    Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously
o    Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of applications, MS Project or other Project Management tool expertise
o    Ability to lead international teams effectively
o    Ability to interact effectively at all levels with sensitivity to cultural diversity
