Description

As an IT Factory Automation director, you will coordinate with global OPS factory leadership, manufacturing engineering, supply chain and business development groups to execute automation deployment and incorporate advanced Smart Factory/Industry 4.0 technologies.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on factory automation technical expertise, big data machine learning and project management experience. You will also have a proven track record of automation deployment in factory setting, including high mix & high-volume production.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise and implement platforms, architecture, systems and tools to enable the OPS Automation strategy that will drive the smart factory initiative of manufacturing excellence.
  • Through benchmarking, evaluate suitable applications to support the smart factory automation strategy and spearhead the deployment of those applications into the manufacturing environment.
  • Supporting and analyzing critical manufacturing systems to ensure efficient and continuous operation &maintaining compliance and overall application health.
  • Providing technical direction and problem resolution during development, deployment, and long term sustaining of automation systems and applications in a 24x7 production environment.
  • Develop and execute an automation strategy aligned with Skyworks’ goals of delivering cutting-edge RF and wireless solutions, utilizing Systema to streamline fab operations.
  • Oversee the configuration, customization, and optimization of Systema APS to support wafer processing, equipment integration, and data-driven decision-making in Skyworks’ advanced manufacturing environment.
  • Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of automation systems, integrating with fab tools, robotics, and IoT solutions to enhance Skyworks’ production capabilities.
  • Ongoing monitoring application stability, performance and availability, promptly resolving any operations issues.
  • Working closely with the broader IT organization to establish 24x7 on call support to troubleshoot factory system applications and infrastructure issues.
  • Providing expertise in primary CIM applications as a Subject Matter Expert (SME)
  • Managing and leading teams of Software Programmers.
  • Work closely with and coordinate factory personnel efforts to ensure automation drivers are maintained and updated.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems/Business information Systems, Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 15+ years’ related experience in Factory Automation, experience in Semiconductor Industry preferred with 10+ years’ experience managing and leading engineers or other technical personnel in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with major applications and IT components in a highly automated factory, including the Manufacturing Execution System, material control system, equipment interfaces, process control software, dispatching/scheduling applications, and common database and data replication technology (e.g., Oracle,DB2, Golden Gate).
  • Experience with Windows Server or Linux running JBOSS with strong knowledge of databases, programming languages (Java / .Net) and Unix/Linux scripting.
  • Experience with managing multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners.
  • Experience in Lean manufacturing and Semiconductor process knowledge is a plus.
  • Thorough knowledge of Wafer Fab/ Industry 4.0 Automation concepts, practices, and principles.
  • Ability to see the big picture and plan strategically to take the organization to the next level.
  • National and International travel will be required to the factories to provide all support needed
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Systema, including configuration, integration, and optimization in a fab environment is a plus.

 

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $139,100$278,300 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others.
