Job Description

Director Customer Quality Engineering 
Location: Irvine CA (Relocation assistance is provided)
We are seeking a Director, Customer Quality engineering with long term experience in full range of semiconductor manufacturing and/or semiconductor assembly/test quality/engineering experience.  The individual will lead customer quality engineering team responsible for Tier 1 customer. The successful candidate will have demonstrated excellent communication skills, and ability to apply process-control and problem-solving methodologies to achieve business objectives. In this role, you will partner with Design, Packaging, Wafer Foundry, Assembly Factories, Test, Failure Analysis, Reliability, Supply Chain and Sales to ensure high quality products are delivered to our customers prior to production launch. This is a very critical role within the company and individual is expected to interact with the customer, executive management and peer level organization leaders to deliver solutions to customer quality problems.

Qualifications & Responsibilities

•    You have a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent related degree. 
•    You have at least 10 years Semiconductor manufacturing or assembly/test experience in the areas of Product Engineering, RF Design & Test.
•    10+ years of people management & 10 years of customer quality engineering experience
•    Familiarity and experience in RF front end & WiFi module environment a plus
•    You have strong leadership skills with proven ability to drive complex issues to closure in a timely manner and clearly communicate the result.
•    You can effectively interface with all levels of the organization including executive level as well as customers.
•    You are self-motivated and capable of successfully multi-tasking in a high pressure, fast-paced environment, matrix environment. You demonstrate sense of urgency in your actions.
•    You are passionate about producing prime quality products and protecting Skyworks and end customer.
•    You thrive in a team environment and have prior problem-solving experience.
•    You are comfortable working long hours at times when necessary/crucial.
Your day to day responsibilities:
•    Be customer champion on quality within Skyworks to achieve customer quality metrics.  
•    Build strong relationships with different organizational leaders within Skyworks team, own collaboration to resolve customer issues requiring cross functional participation
•    Cultivate relationship of trust and collaboration with customer team members
•    Provide technical leadership directing customer quality team on customer problem solving 
•    Own customer quality problems from initiation to 8D closure
•    Drive high quality in product design and manufacturing using best practices such as Lessons Learned, Risk Assessment, Design of experiments DOE, Design for test DFT, Design for Manufacturability DFM, etc.
•    Prior to product launch, work closely with key customer, product development team and manufacturing to surface potential issues early to insure stable/high quality device during high volume manufacturing.
•    During high volume production, you will quickly resolve customer issues via leading a cross-functional technical team to determine containment, root cause and corrective actions. You will be interacting with key customer to fully understand the customer’s complaint and provide regular status. 
•    You will drive team to achieve DPPM goal, customer complaint cycle time targets and deliver high quality 8D reports.
•    You will be travelling to customer or manufacturing sites for proactive risk mitigation or crisis resolution.
