Director, Sourcing - Foundry


As a key leader in the Sourcing Organization, the Director of Foundry Sourcing will be responsible for developing and deploying a global foundry sourcing strategy for Skyworks.  Partnering across the global organization with Operations, Engineering, Finance and the Business Units the incumbent will lead highly visible and globally influential initiatives with significant impact on Skyworks’ financials.  Along with directing a team of foundry sourcing managers to manage ongoing procurement of wafers and services, the Director of Foundry Sourcing will also build the necessary tools and processes to perform strategic sourcing in the foundry space. 


Responsibilities for the position are:


  1. Partner with Foundry Engineering and the Business Units to ensure we have identified the most efficient and effective supply line for each product portfolio.  
  2. Co-develop and implement end to end visibility of all costs (Total Cost of Ownership) and capacity pipelines to ensure the teams are executing to viable global sourcing strategies.
  3. Continuously improve the processes and systems we use to manage Skyworks’ growth more efficiently over time.  Increase visibility, proactivity, and action effectivity for all foundry vendors. 
  4. Collaborate with product design, package engineering, and factory teams to determine the least impactful methods to deploy multi-sourcing where possible.
  5. Partnering with Legal, secure business-aligned contract terms with our key vendors.  Partner with Quality, Engineering and Supply Chain to ensure adherence to those terms.
  6. Manage, mentor and grow a staff of Foundry sourcing personnel. 
  7. Collaborate with Direct Sourcing team to ensure Skyworks has a viable whole-world strategy for wafer substrates.



Bachelor’s degree in a related field, MBA preferred



We require 15+ years previous related experience. 


  • Minimum ten years of experience in semiconductor foundry sourcing with demonstrated experience directing a sourcing team at >$400M/y in revenue.  Multi-foundry and multi-site strategy experience a plus.
  • Successful experience in cross cultural relationships, particularly with US, Taiwan, Singapore, Japan, Mexico, and Korea.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with engineering to choose viable partners for new technologies and manage vendors throughout the product lifecycle, including near-vertical ramps. 
  • Thorough understanding of foundry operations, and managing a foundry supplier as a virtual fab.   
  • Demonstrated ability to lead/coordinate internal and external global teams to deliver to a common objective.  Comfort with facilitating teams/groups and working with all levels of the organization. 
  • Proven ability to hold vendors accountable to performance requirements. 
  • Strong business acumen.
