Job Description

Linux/Unix operating systems, server platforms, VMWare hypervisors, storage technologies (SAN, VSAN, NAS), Bash/Python scripting, backup technologies, infrastructure monitoring tools, cloud services, core infrastructure (DNS, DHCP, LDAP)

Position Summary:
The Principal IT Infrastructure Administrator will take a key role executing the strategy of the Global Server and Cloud team responsible for supporting the Skyworks Solutions Enterprise.  The candidate will implement and support modern compute, storage, backup, monitoring, and cloud services along with the existing team providing these services, while maintaining legacy systems.  Additionally, the candidate will advise on relevant technologies, provide technical expertise, and assist the global IT team in maturing and transforming business processes across the organization.  

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Supporting all aspects of servers, Linux/UNIX operating systems, backups and recovery, and related infrastructure applications
2. Providing 24x7 on-call support for critical system issues
3. Designing and implementing solutions that meet business requirements
4. Working closely with the Cyber Security Team to maintain secure systems and processes
5. Monitoring and analyzing the impact of new technology on existing and future capacity 
6. Defining and executing a regular patching schedule for all systems
7. Coordinating infrastructure changes with appropriate teams to ensure uninterrupted service
8. Proactively monitoring and collecting performance data as well as conducting real-time analysis of systems to mitigate business impacting events
9. Migrating and transforming data as required to support business operations.
10. Maintaining design and operational documentation for all systems supported by the infrastructure team
11. Participating in strategic and tactical operational planning for business continuity
12. Supporting internal and external audits required for corporate compliance
13. Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and training


• Minimum 8 years prior experience delivering and supporting technology services on a global scale
• Expert level understanding of Linux/UNIX operating systems and LDAP integration
• Proficiency with BASH scripting (Python is a plus)
• Proficiency with storage technologies (SAN, VSAN, NAS)
• Proficiency with virtualization technologies (VMware)
• Proficiency with backup technologies (NetBackup, Veeam, etc.)
• Experience supporting DevOps groups and LAMP Stack
• Intermediate understanding and experience with cloud solutions like Azure and AWS.
• Strong experience with M&A and systems integration projects
• Advanced ability to communicate complex technical information to all stakeholders, including those who do not have a technical background
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-directing individual demonstrating teamwork, organization skills and well-structured working approach given multiple priorities
• Experience working with cross-functional and matrixed teams
• Proven history converting complex business processes into simplified system designs
• Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of applications and software management tools
• Ability to interact effectively at all levels with international teams while being sensitive to cultural diversity
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related discipline, certifications or equivalent experience
