Job Description

This co-op is for Winter/Spring (begining of January - end of June) - start/end dates flexible to academic schedule. 

The successful candidate will possess a reasonable understanding of electromagnetic and RF and be a driven, committed team player. Our Module/EM design team is responsible for designing and simulating all passive aspects of front-end module designs including output matching networks, integrated passive devices, high-directivity daisy-chain couplers, harmonic filters, and high isolation layouts for SAW/BAW duplexers. They will be part of a team that delivers products for real world devices and those that drive technology advancements in wireless connectivity. They will also get a chance to work in teams which are customer focused and understand how to manage trade-offs to meet requirements and deliverables.

Our Module/EM Design Co-Op will improve design of passive RF circuit designs in a fast-paced team environment. It is required to work closely with PA/SOI/ SAW/BAW engineers to produce optimal co-simulation results. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

o Adapting to best MCM design and Co-simulation methodologies
o Designing semi-lumped RF matching networks on chip or on module
o Designing Integrated Passive Devices (IPD)
o Designing high-isolation laminate layouts to support high-rejection acoustic filters
o Participating and conducting design reviews
o Performing lab testing using RF test equipment The circuit blocks involved in a typical product development may include:
o Power Amplifiers
o Integrated Passive Devices
o SAW/BAW Duplexers & High-Q RF Filters
o Switches
o Power Detectors
o Matching circuits
o High-directivity couplers

Software Tools Used are:

o Ansys HFSS
o Agilent ADS and Momentum
o EMX

Education requirements:

•Must be enrolled in BS senior year, MSEE, or PhD program at university.
•Must have a career interest in becoming an Engineer in RF/microwave area
•Coursework in the following areas: Circuits and Electronics, Semiconductor Devices, Analog/Mixed Signal, RF/Microwave Circuits and Systems (preferred), Electromagnetics (preferred)
