Product Line Manager

 

The MSB Division at Skyworks is focused on the design and development of a broad range of premium high performance RF/analog and mixed signal semiconductors that enable Cellular connectivity.  Our power amplifiers, transmit & receive front-end modules, integrated radio frequency solutions, and other components can be found in many of the cellular handsets, IoT modules and connected vehicles.

Based in Irvine, Newbury Park, or Austin the Product Line Manager will drive a wide range of activities that will ultimately increase revenue, market share, and gross margins for MSB IoT business. Responsibilities will start from product definition, planning, production release, and end of life. The second focus area of this position is to support the MSB Centralized Pricing function.

Responsibilities

  • Increase the MSB IoT Product Line revenue and gross margin.
  • Develop and maintain a centralized MSB pricing database in collaboration with Sales Operations. Ensure all new MSB quotes are comprehensively analyzed for volume, revenue, gross margin, and related metrics. Submit recommended quotes to the MSB PLM Leader and Marketing leadership, supported by robust quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Partner with Sales to closely monitor pipeline opportunities. Proactively engage in strategies and actions that convert opportunities into successful design wins to strengthen MSB’s market position.
  • Support Marketing/Systems engineering with product definition of cellular/WiFi solutions that will be used by future connected vehicles and IoT modules.
  • Manage MSB NPI cost models for IoT and drive cost reduction actions with the product development teams.
  • Continuously track the financial health of the IoT business, identify actionable strategies to enhance key performance metrics, and deliver executive-level reports and recommendations on a routine basis.
  • Lead part approval documentation completion: (1) PPAPs, (2) qualification documents, and (3) datasheets.
  • Actively participate in product development meetings, meticulously track progress, and represent the voice of the customer to address concerns and guide solutions that deliver value and satisfaction.

Required Experience and Skills

The successful candidate will report directly to the Director, Product Line Mgmt.

Minimum requirements:

  • BSEE + 12 years’ experience, or MS + 8 years, or PhD + 5 years. 
  • Experience in semiconductor product development, design, applications, or marketing.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Ability to work in, and thrive in, a team environment

Preferred:

  • Data analytics, advanced Excel.
  • Finance savvy. 
  • Familiar with semiconductor competitive environment.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $126,500 - $241,700 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others.
