How the Timing Product Test Team works

Skyworks is focused on bringing new and innovative clock and oscillator products to the marketplace.  These products are more than meets the eye with innovative DFT/BIST, test methodology, and customization.  The Timing Test team at Skyworks is a dynamic and growing group that provides the support for this exciting and high growth business.  This support includes the development of advanced test solutions including software and hardware design, qualification, and characterization of devices.

These test solutions typically require a range of digital and analog test techniques combined to ensure these products perform according to requirements of the intended applications.

We are looking for a detail-oriented Product Test Engineer who is a self-starter and thrives in an independent work environment.   Engineers inquiring about this position should be fluent in software development and/or system design, including revision control, program architecture, embedded systems, and collaborative developments.  Knowledge of traditional test platforms is desired but not required.  Additionally, interested engineers should have an understanding of the qualification and characterization requirements for integrated circuits. Successful candidates should have excellent written and oral communication skills and should be comfortable in explaining technical concepts to a wide range of audiences including more senior engineers and management teams.



•    Strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals and methodologies under an IC environment
•    Strong software development skills, C and Python preferred
•    Ability to troubleshoot and debug systems, circuits, and devices
•    General analog and digital circuit analysis skills (including noise effects) 
•    Working knowledge of semiconductor quality and process controls

Desired Skills:

•    Experience with multi-person software developments and revision control methodology
•    Experience with embedded systems and firmware development
•    Experience with ATE platforms such as Cohu, Teradyne J750, Teradyne IFlex, or others
•    Working knowledge of signal integrity issues, simulations, and solutions
•    Knowledge of proper and effective use of lab test equipment
•    Familiarity with quality procedures and documentation
•    Schematic capture and PCB design skills
•    Technical documentation authoring and editing skills
•    Familiarity with PLL and oscillator design
•    Familiarity with circuit-level simulation tools


Masters in Electrical Engineering preferred but not required
