Job Description

SAW Technology Introduction Director

 

  • Lead Skyworks' engineering development efforts and technology roadmaps to drive SAW technology development into high volume production and products to market, ensuring meaningful commercial success.
  • Provide leadership to the SAW engineering team, including setting the product vision and supporting the development and production of products from beginning to end of life.
  • Formulate and drive best practices that are adopted across the SAW engineering organization; drive an execution and efficiency mindset across all engineering functions as it relates to operationalizing the SAW technology development.
  • Provide comprehensive leadership addressing a variety of activities including working cross-functionally with all departments.
  • Be prepared to provide high-level technical contributions to customer relationships.
  • Hire, develop, motivate, retain, and evaluate a high performing, global engineering organization.
  • Meet financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
  • Collaborate and openly debate with team to manage projects, solve problems, discuss challenging issues, and learn more about critical issues as a group.
  • Implement or improve solutions to minimize disruptions in the NTI workflow.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement in your organization, NTI process and associated department through feedback loops to capture lessons learned from each Technology Project.
  • Report and maintain knowledge on Technology status to executive leadership by preparing appropriate reports.

Qualifications

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Engineering, Material Science, Physics, RF Engineering preferred.
  • More than 15 years of experience in the semiconductor industry with a minimum of 10 years of leadership roles for a global semiconductor organization.
  • Experience operationalizing business technology development.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • A proven leader of an engineering team with experience leading effectively in a multi-cultural, multi-geographic engineering environment.
  • A proven record of aggressively driving products into market in a high-volume production environment (ideally, SAW technology development and New Product Introduction (NPI) of SAW technology into high volume production).
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, both technical and interpersonal.
  • Pragmatic and flexible attitude with a result- and data-driven can-do mentality.
  • Works autonomously, well-organized, with strong attention to detail, while setting high standards in all aspects of the work.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $166,600$333,100 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others.
