Job Description
Skyworks Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Director of Engineering and the individual selected can work from our Design Center in Andover, MA (preferred); Irvine, CA; San Jose, CA; or Greensboro, NC. This candidate will take an active leadership role in concept/architecture development, design, integration, and delivery of complex multichip RFIC-based module solutions for 2-9GHz wireless connectivity applications. The candidate will be involved with all aspects of product realization including interfacing with key customers and working with an extended cross-site team to deliver high-performance RF products to high volume markets.
The successful candidate will possess an RF design background with an excellent understanding of wireless markets and associated IC and MCM technology required to meet cutting edge product requirements. As a key leader in product development, you will also ensure consistent use of the latest design methodologies to ensure high quality, on-time product launches. The candidate must possess excellent leadership and customer skills.
Responsibilities:
Your key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Driving and managing RF product and IP development for TX/RX wireless modules aligning with marketing roadmap through regular direct team meetings and reviews
- Working with a multi-disciplinary team across the company through the full life cycle of product development, including RF design, packaging, product, and test engineering
- Key contributor to connectivity IP roadmap requirements providing inputs for annual corporate planning
- Working with Marketing and customers to thoroughly define product specs and requirements
- Help conduct timely architecture studies and feasibility simulations including cost/performance considerations
- Ensure use of latest simulation methodologies and checklists to ensure robust, bug-free product development. Careful tracking of product performance/improvements & gaps through the development cycle
- Develop and lead a high-performance, world-class team including hiring, coaching, mentoring, and training/developing team members
- Provide periodic status updates to senior management
- Travel to customer sites and other Skyworks sites as needed
Requirements
- BSEE with 15 years or MSEE with 12 years of related experience
- Direct experience interfacing with Tier 1 customers with a successful track record of product delivery
- Extensive experience leading cross-functional product teams
- Excellent communications and leadership skills, a passion to win/contribute, ability to work in and thrive in a team environment
- Detailed knowledge of RFIC components including Switch/LNA/PA and semiconductor process technologies such as CMOS, GaAs/Silicon HBT, SOI, BiCMOS
- Solid knowledge of RF simulation tools including ADS, Cadence, and EM tools
- Experience with RF measurement techniques and equipment including spectrum analyzers, & signal generators
- Extensive experience leading product development from start to finish including direct experience designing and simulating RF components including the use of EM tools
- Wireless communications standards knowledge such as Wi-Fi or LTE

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $175,400 - $367,500 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
