International Controller, Senior Manager

 

Skyworks (SWKS) is a public multi-billion dollar revenue company with a presence in over 10 countries, manufacturing plants in 4 countries, and executive offices located in Irvine, California. We are seeking an intellectually curious, process oriented individual to be our International Controller reporting to the VP Corporate Controller.  This person will support the accounting department with fiduciary responsibility for compliance and protecting the interests of Skyworks Solutions, Inc. (Skyworks, the Company) and its legal entities.

 

The International Controller is a critical role to the ongoing successful management of Skyworks and the development of a world-class financial organization.  The International controller will responsible for actively managing all aspects of Company’ foreign legal entities, statutory accounting, audit coordination/oversight, international tax coordination and assessment. The International Controller will ensure that the Skyworks international legal entities are compliant with all US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and local GAAP as well as local tax, accounting/financial regulations, required by local country legislation.

 

This role is responsible for the full spectrum of the International controllership activities and functions, which include general accounting, oversight of international accounts payable, and payroll, as well as establishing and implementing strategies for reconciling accounts and reporting financial results, internal controls, etc.  It will also be responsible for the setup and monitoring of new processes and controls internationally. It will require continual communication with our managers located in Singapore, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Boston, Massachusetts, and our third party service companies in other countries.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned):

  • Direct the preparation of the company's financial processes, filings, statements and reports in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and local generally accepted accounting principles, to include the monthly financial close process, foreign income tax filings and transfer pricing coordination.
  • Understand and follow all international statutory requirements
  • Contribute financial expertise to various functions, special projects and analysis.
  • Develop, maintain and coordinate corporate accounting policies.
  • Execute extensive audit processes, including the consolidated audit and statutory audits in multiple international jurisdictions.
  • Coordinate with all 3rd party audit firms for overseas audits.
  • Provide overall management, direction and integrity of the global accounting function, systems, and reports.
  • Understand consolidations and inter-company transactions, including accounting for foreign currency.
  • Review of balance sheet account reconciliations and detailed P&L account analysis.
  • Direct and oversee the work of domestic and international accounting professionals, including training, mentoring and ensuring professional development.
  • Build relationships with cross-functional areas and handle any conflicts in a professional manner.
  • Complete accounting research regarding international expansions to ensure local reporting requirements.
  • Manage and limit high risk areas of international operations.
  • Primary accounting contact for all international 3rd party accounting firms.
  • Must be willing to travel, primarily in the APAC region

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution.
  • 12+ years of progressive Accounting experience in a leadership role,
  • Previous public accounting (2-4 years Big 4 experience preferred)
  • International tax related experience.
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft office software to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, detail oriented and able to coordinate/manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledgeable in managing an entire audit process.
  • Attainment of CPA designation

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of accounting principles.
  • Strong International experience.
  • Professional experience in semiconductor/technology industry.
  • Experience with SAP software.
  • Transfer pricing experience.
