Description

Would you like to work for a world-class company providing technical support and in an energetic environment in Irvine, California?  As a member of the applications engineering team at Skyworks, you’ll be working with a dream team of professionals from Sales, Marketing, and Development teams supporting customers in other parts of the country and different parts of the globe.  We’re looking for individuals for an intern/Co-op position with a relevant educational background in RF communications.  In particular, students who have been exposed to basic knowledge of low noise amplifiers, power amplifiers and RF switches in the cellular infrastructure market and the emerging 5G technologies.

 

In this position, you will learn on the job how the different RF components interact in a system.  You will also learn how to evaluate and test each component for their key performance. We are looking for someone who is a proactive self-starter, able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Verification and evaluation of Skyworks products for compliance to datasheet specification
  • Device matching on the board level.  May require soldering.
  • Device characterization
  • Preparing boards for customer sampling

Required Experience and Skills

  • Junior or Senior level electrical engineer working on a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s of Science degree.
  • Proficient in the use of basic RF equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, network analyzer, and similar tools.
  • Strong user of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, etc).
  •  Must have strong written and verbal skills in English.

Desired Experience and Skills

 

  • Highly desirable to have basic knowledge of LTE, 5G and other technologies.
  • Must have relevant educational background on RF components such as low noise amplifiers, power amplifiers and RF switches as part of an overall system.

The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
