Position Summary:

The Project Manager will take a leadership role supporting portfolios, programs and projects.  This successful individual will work effectively across the organization to ensure strategic projects are delivered within the applicable parameters of schedule, scope, budget, and quality.  The ability to work collaboratively across the organization, engaging stakeholders and delivering on commitments is paramount.  Governance of process, obtaining buy-in and leveraging resources to complete required work is a key component of the position.  The ultimate focus of the position is improving Information Service’s ability to make and meet its commitments and maximize the utilization of its labor resources through the application of Program, Project, and Resource Management principles.

Detailed Description:

Our Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring a project management approach is in alignment with the IT strategy. The role is expected to provide strong leadership to promote best practices in managing IT projects to ensure successful delivery.  Strong project management and excellent organizational skills are essential, as is the ability to liaise with people at all levels of the organization.  The candidate will report to the Senior Manager, Information Technology and support project management disciplines in an extremely fast-paced environment to support the development of a world-class IT organization.

 Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

 Establishing the PMO organization as a center of excellence.

  1. Lead all project phases from their initial planning stage through the execution of deliverables and post project closing reviews.
  2. Initiate, plan and manage projects with cross functional teams, business units and external staff resources.
  3. Manage project objectives, scopes, milestones through a structured approval and change management process.
  4. Define in detail the project management processes, accountability and expectations required from all project participants.
  5. Track the project life cycle including success factors, acceptance and sign-off from stakeholders.
  6. Ensure project plans are created and maintained, deliverables tracked against time/cost and resource workload capacity metrics reported.
  7. Manage contingency plans and balance resource workloads, assignments and identify project risk triggers across multiple projects simultaneously.
  8. Report on actual resource hours consumed against estimated plan hours and make adjustments to achieve target milestones or identify resource availability opportunities.
  9.  Motivate teams to embrace the project management workflow as a positive opportunity for building a high impact performance organization.
  10.  Adapt to and effectively respond to shifts in project scopes, new and changing project requirements and unexpected events.
  11.  Maintain a project dashboard to provide insight into the status of projects, decisions approved and actions in progress. 
  12.  Leverage the PPM Pro project management software tool to facilitate the reporting of project milestones, risks/constraints and resource work load capacity.
  13.  Maintain a project center of excellence repository with active and completed projects.
  14.  Manage the transition of an active project to a support phase and formally close out the project by conducting post reviews and documenting lessons learned into the project center.
  15.  Perform ongoing assessment of all active projects, including scope management, resource scheduling and budget status where applicable.
  16.  Recommend continuous improvement to PMO processes for greater efficiency and improved quality.
  17.  Provide constructive resource performance feedback.
  18.  Conduct audits and ensure adherence to the project management methodologies in all projects.
  19.  Maintain project governance controls, transparency and traceability for all executives, stakeholders and team members.
  20. Participate in the development, refinement and integration of project management methodology processes to streamline project delivery



The successful candidate will manage strategic Information Technology projects, reporting to the Senior Manager – IT Project Management.   


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field (MS preferred)
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification
  • Proficiency in Planview PPM Pro project portfolio management software is a must.
  • Must have 6+ years of demonstrated project management experience working in a PMO and 4+ years with Planview PPM Pro
  • Must have 6+ years of IT industry experience
  • Matrix management experience in a large-scale IT environment
  • 6+ years of Business industry experience
  • 3-5 years of application implementation experience (project management experience with large scale application implementation projects)
  • 3-5 years of IT infrastructure project execution experience (project management experience with large scale infrastructure implementation projects)
  • 2 years of experience managing international projects
  • 5 years of demonstrated experience managing project resources indirectly and remotely
  • Experienced in managing project life-cycle stages, including schedule, budget, risk/issue management and status reporting to various levels of the organization.
  • Metric driven with strong analytical and cross-group collaboration skills to bring the organization to consensus on decisions on both short and long-term product plans
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills (English and Spanish)
  • Excellent presentation and public speaking skills (English and Spanish)
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to use a wide degree of creativity and latitude to think differently, challenge conventional wisdom, and drive new best practices
  • Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of applications, including Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio
  • Ability to work effectively with international teams
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of Management
  • Independent follow-through ability and keen attention to details

Job Description
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Plans and coordinates all aspects of internal information system-specific projects from initiation to delivery. Projects often involve network, server, or software implementation and upgrades, PC deployment and the like. Coordinates work performed by IT staff and internal customers/partners by defining project requirements, performing feasibility and needs/impact assessments. Develops detailed project plans and manages all implementation processes including resource allocation, progress tracking, monitoring change control process, testing, documentation, training and on-time delivery within budget constraints. Projects may vary in number, size and complexity. This job manages specific projects that have a distinct beginning and end.
