This role is responsible for developing long-range and mid-term capacity strategies, balancing supply and demand, optimizing asset utilization, and enabling capital investment decisions to support corporate growth objectives.

This leader will partner cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, and external Foundry/OSAT partners to ensure seamless product ramps, risk mitigation, and strategic capacity alignment in a dynamic semiconductor market.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Capacity Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive capacity models for wafer fabs, assembly, and test operations.
  • Align capacity roadmaps with technology nodes, product roadmaps, and customer demand forecasts.
  • Evaluate long-term scenarios to support capital expenditure planning, outsourcing strategies, and make/buy decisions.

Operational Execution

  • Lead medium- and long-term capacity allocation across sites, fabs, and OSAT partners.
  • Identify bottlenecks, propose mitigation actions, and drive resolution with operations and engineering teams.
  • Monitor utilization, throughput, and cycle time to ensure supply continuity and customer delivery.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner with Product Line, Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), Finance, and Engineering to balance demand and supply.
  • Serve as the capacity subject matter expert during executive reviews, product ramp planning, and risk assessments.
  • Influence investment and sourcing decisions by providing robust capacity analyses and trade-off scenarios.

Analytics & Systems

  • Drive digitalization of capacity planning tools and scenario modeling.
  • Leverage advanced analytics to improve forecast accuracy, identify risks, and optimize capacity buffers.
  • Establish KPIs for utilization, forecast accuracy, cycle times, and capital efficiency.

Required Experience and Skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Research, or related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in semiconductor operations, supply chain, or planning; minimum 5 years in capacity planning.
  • Strong knowledge of both frontend (wafer fabrication, lithography, etch, deposition) and backend (assembly, packaging, test) processes.
  • Proven track record in developing capacity strategies, scenario modeling, and capital investment planning.
  • Expertise with planning tools (Kinaxis, Anaplan, SAP IBP, custom models, or equivalent).
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with executive presence.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence decisions in a global, matrixed environment.
