2019 - LNA Design Co-Op         

Job Responsibilities:
 1. Simulating/validating RFIC (LNA, RF switch, etc.) performance across supply, temperature, and frequency
 2. Top- and block-level design and simulation to understand the circuits that are being measured and correlating measurements with simulation
 3. Creating compliance matrices against spec, plotting results and presenting results summary
 4. Tuning RF front end modules in the lab
 5. Impedance matching using Smith chart
 6. Evaluating RF parameters like IP3, P1dB, NF, return loss, etc.

 7. Work in collboration with your assigned mentor and manager


Job Requirements:

The LNA Design Engineering Co-Op should have knowledge of semiconductors, analog circuits, RF design fundamentals, wireless systems and introductory electromagnetics. The Co-Op should understand basic IC building blocks like LNA, mixer, switch, bias, bandgap, LDO, op-amp, etc. Understanding of design parameters like gain, noise, non-linearity, s-parameters, stability, etc. is required.


Exposure to a lab testing setup and environment including commonly used test equipment like network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, frequency generator, noise figure meter will be useful to perform the required job. The intern should have used a circuit design tool like Cadence Virtuoso and be familiar with CMOS/bipolar/SOI devices and models.

- Currently pursuing a PhD (preferred) or MS degree studying Electrical Engineering

- Able to commit to the 2019 Summer / Fall Co-Op Program which runs from July 2019 to December 2019
- Must have completed at least one RF / Microwave Electronics course and  Electromagnetic course work desired
- Experience presenting materials for design reviews

- Knowledgeable in the use of a Network Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, RF Generator, Power Meter, and Oscilloscope
- Desirable knowledge/experience includes familiarity with Cadence Spectre / RF simulation tools and Cadence Virtuoso IC Layout tools 

- Experience with ADS or Momentum/HFSS EM simulation tools is a plus.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word
- Good communication, organization, and documentation skills
