POSITION SUMMARY
Failure Analysis Technician – Multiple Openings
Day Shift: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Second Shift: M-F 4:30 PM-1:00 AM
Location: Newbury Park, CA
Base Pay + 8% Shift Premium for second shift
 
We are looking for Engineering Technicians who enjoy problem solving with a practical and hands-on approach. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner with experience in Engineering support for failure/root-cause analysis on IC circuits.  The primary responsibility of the Failure Analysis Technician is to support Semiconductor failure analysis engineering activities, which include the following:
 
•    External Visual Inspection
•    IR Inspection
•    X Ray (2D and 3D/CT reconstruction) of packaged components and electronic assemblies
•    Scanning Acoustic Microscopy (C-SAM) of packaged components
•    Electrical bench testing (package and die level), including IV Curve trace, DC, and RF testing
•    Re-balling, soldering/de-soldering of electronic assemblies
•    Mechanical cross section, ion milling, and parallel lapping/polishing
•    Organization and inventory management of test hardware and equipment
•    Any additional duties assigned
 

MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
•    Associates in Engineering or Science discipline (Physics preferred)
•    Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in soldering/de-soldering of electronic assemblies and RF electrical component testing
•    Experience using electrical test equipment, including power supplies, multi-meters, oscilloscope, Semiconductor Device Analyzer, Network Analyzer, Parametric Analyzer, Probe station
•    Manual dexterity, attention to detail, organization, and patience while often working with small ICs and detail-oriented tasks
•    Must possess excellent skills in problem solving, teamwork, and demonstrate excellent verbal and written communications.
•    Capable of taking direction from multiple individuals and accomplishing tasks successfully
•    Must be proficient in MS Office applications

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
•    Understanding of semiconductor packaging and process highly desired.
•    Previous experience working in a semiconductor failure analysis lab, including performing decapsulation (mechanical, laser, acid) and delayering (RIE, mechanical, wet etch)
