Position Summary:

Seeking a self-motivated, enthusiastic team player with a “can-do” attitude and sense of urgency to oversee the manufacturing floor. Directly manage manufacturing supervisors to create and achieve goals supporting Skyworks’ overall company objectives.  Lead the team to maximize factory performance in terms of safety, quality, yield, utilization, throughput and output while minimizing costs, meeting budgets and keeping high factory morale and engagement.  Work cross-functionally as a team with other groups in the company (EES, Process Engineering, Advance Technology Group, Facilities, Industrial Engineering, Production Control, Quality, etc.) to ensure manufacturing needs are being met while also supporting the needs of the other groups to ensure the overall success of Newbury Park Operations.   

 Achieve and sustain safety, yield, productivity, cycle time, on time delivery and output metrics on a daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis. Ensure all aspects of employee safety comply with corporate mandates to provide a healthy and safe work environment.

 

 Job Responsibilities:

  • Manages the coordination of activities on the manufacturing floor with responsibility for results, including: safety, yield, moves, costs, methods, staffing, output and On Time Delivery.
  • Works closely with their team to keep factory morale and engagement high, by creating a positive work environment for the manufacturing technicians.
  • Ensures the effective use of materials, equipment and personnel in producing quality products at minimum costs while meeting delivery requirements.
  • Works cooperatively and as a team member with supervisors, customers and/or functional peer group managers across the organization to drive improvements that benefit Operations and Skyworks as a whole.  Also leads such teams as needed.
  • Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals.
  • Acts as advisor/mentor to subordinates to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems.  Also identifies opportunities for subordinates’ growth and development and works to encourage these improvements. 
  • Makes decisions and achieves results that do not add costs or adversely impact the short-term and long-term goals of the operation.
  • Interacts with other supervisors, HR, and training to hire and train staff, address employee relations issues, and plan special events.  Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure efficient operation of job function, and to help supervisors grow in their role over time.

 

Job and Performance Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience
  • Min 5 years’ experience in a semiconductor fabrication environment, or 5 years engineering experience leading teams in the factory.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor GaAs wafer manufacturing processes, flow, factory equipment and working knowledge/experience applying problem solving and continuous improvement tools (Six Sigma, etc.)
  • Ability to perform data analysis, report results, trends, etc., and to take action on analysis to drive improvement.
  • Advanced knowledge/user of current manufacturing execution software systems (PROMIS, Fab Time).
  • Proficient User of Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes
  • Must be a strong team player, detail oriented, proactive, self-driven and results oriented.
  • Must have excellent communication and written skills, presentation skills, and perform well under pressure.
  • Ability to challenge and hold people accountable and drive results.
  • Ability to consistently apply policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate management/leadership/business acumen.
  • Exhibit critical thinking/forward thinking.
  • Required to work some addl off hours to support meetings etc.
  • Must be able to work A1 Shift on compressed work week Su, M, T and S, Su, M, T, W hours 5:30 am - 5:35 pm rotating 3 day then 4 day work week.
