Description

In this Co-Op opportunity at Skyworks, you will work on manufacturing quality and supplier quality to support the Newbury Park Team.  You will also have an opportunity to interact with members from our quality team in Woburn, MA.  Not only you will get to know how things work in industry, but you will also accumulate technical knowledge and skills and gain valuable experience. Responsibilities:

  • Working with QA Engineer to help address escapes to assembly/test and offshore bumping facilities
  • Generate non-conforming material reports (NCMR)
  • Performing routine electrostatic discharge (ESD) verification and test wafer inspections
  • Harmonization of procedures between NBP and WOB sites
  • Supporting HBT9-Flipchip Technology Risk Assessment
  • Supporting VDA6.3 automotive process audits
  • Supporting process failure mode and effect analysis (PFMEA) reviews

 

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Pursuing a B.S. or M.S.  in related Engineering field with an interest in the semiconductor industry
  • Commitment to working on site for up to six months during the period of January 2025 - June 2025

Preferred Skills

  • Background in solid state physics preferred (p-n junctions, bipolar transistors, MOS/FET/HEMT transistors, and similar subject areas)
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Strong desire to learn, grow, and make an impact
  • Willing to share knowledge and collaborate with others
  • Attention to detail and good communication skills

The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
