Description

This position is for a Validation Engineer co-op in the Mobile Solutions Business (MSB) Unit in Skyworks Newbury Park, CA design center. The candidate will be part of a VE engineering group in support of high-volume power amplifier products and sub-systems for cellular handset applications. The candidate will assist VE to setup tests, gather, analyze and summarize the data. Will also help design engineers optimize the module by tuning. The candidate must be a driven and committed team player.

 

Duration: January to June 2026

Responsibilities

  • Working with a senior VE to setup tests and gather data for compliance matrix
  • Performing lab testing using RF test equipment and analyzing/summarizing the data
  • Working with a design engineer to help optimize matching circuits for better module performance

Required Experience and Skills

  • BSEE with emphasis in RF and Power amplifier theory or equivalent. MSEE preferred.
  • Commitment to working on-site for up to 6 months (January to June 2026)
  • Hands on experience in lab debugging.
  • Circuit simulation skills utilizing Agilent ADS/GoldenGate/spectreRF.
  • Understanding of RF concepts such as impedance matching, impedance transformation, distributed systems, passive RLC and resonant circuits, noise, linearity, bandwidth and stability.
  • A self-starter and team player with ability to learn on the job.
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written.

The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
