Description

Skyworks is seeking a Sr. Process Engineer to support our GaAs Fab in Newbury Park, CA, a 24x7 production environment.  As a Sr. Process Engineer you will sustain and improve compound semiconductor Frontside Etch and Strip processes for current technology as well as working with development team on the new technologies to ensure tool and processes are optimized.  In this role, you will implement/improve process control by use of FDC and SPC methods.  In addition, you will work in a team environment to drive improvement in tool capability, to reduce visual defects, electrical failures, number of held lots and to disposition of held lots in timely manner. 

Responisbilities

  • Sustain frontside wet and dry etch processes to prevent visual and electrical issues.
  • Improve frontside wet and dry etch processes to reduce cost and increase yield
  • Implement and improve tool/process outlier detection by use of FDC and SPC methods
  • Review of metrology, AOI, electrical, SPC and FDC trends
  • Reduction of held lots and timely disposition of held lots
  • Responsible for defining and establishing Process Documentation, including Work Instructions and Process Controls. 
  • Will collaborate with the Manufacturing teams to support required KPIs, Goals and Objectives and makes Problem Solving a priority for Manufacturing support.

Required Experience and Skills

•    Bachelor’s in science or engineering degree required with 5 years of relevant experience in a cleanroom environment (or MS degree + 3, or PhD degree + 0).
•    Core engineering principles; detailed oriented and metrics driven
•    Must be able to effectively communicate with other teams
•    Team player with strong process understanding and process improvement capabilities
•    Able to quickly troubleshoot and find root cause using methodology such as Six Sigma
•    Ability to good exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action needed to resolve lot issues
•    Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and dynamic production environment.

 

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $87,600$167,900 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
