This role is based out of our Newbury Park location which is nestled in the vibrant city of Thousand Oaks, CA. 

Responsibilities

  • As a Supply Chain Planning Co-Op (Winter/Spring), you will work and collaborate with Production Control and Industrial Engineering teams to manage day to day tasks as well as create and automate processes which will result in increased efficiency and cost reductions. 
  • Expect to play a major role in helping the company reach its internal and external customer objectives. 
  • Work with various teams to help control inventory volumes based on forecasted demand and sustain the inventory space needed for storage. 
  • Work with fab team to review wip supply and schedules and assure on time delivery. 
  • High level activities will consist of multitasking, comprehending and generating reports, providing quick responses and solutions to problems, improving processes with automation, and helping fulfill company goals and expectations to reduce costs.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related program. This educational background will provide you with the necessary foundation for understanding and applying engineering and supply chain principles.
  • Able to commit to full duration of the Co-Op, which is approximately 6 months long. 

Desired Experience and Skills

  • Industrial Engineering knowledge: A solid understanding of industrial engineering principles, methodologies, and best practices is important. This includes knowledge of process improvement, automation, optimization, and production planning techniques.
  • Supply chain understanding: Familiarity with supply chain management concepts and practices will be beneficial. Understanding inventory management, demand forecasting, and logistics will help you effectively contribute to controlling inventory volumes and meeting customer objectives.
  • In addition to these requirements, it is also valuable to possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and collaboration abilities, and the ability to work well in a team environment. Previous experience or coursework related to production planning, inventory management, and supply chain optimization can be advantageous as well.

The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
