We're dedicated to fostering an environment where diversity thrives, and every team member can reach their full potential.  We are currently seeking a Test/Characterization Engineer to join our dynamic team in Newbury Park.
 
As a Test/Characterization Engineer, you will be responsible for the characterization and analysis of state-of-the-art RF and mixed-signal semiconductor devices. You will play a critical role in understanding and documenting device performance, ensuring that our products meet the necessary specifications and performance criteria.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement characterization test plans for new products, with a focus on 2G/3G/4G/5G cellular, WiFi, and Bluetooth technologies.
  • Design and utilize test setups to evaluate the performance of devices across various conditions, including temperature, voltage, and frequency.
  • Analyze test results, generate characterization reports, and provide feedback to design and process teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify potential areas of improvement and optimization in device performance.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve automated test scripts and platforms to ensure efficient and repeatable testing procedures.
  • Provide technical support to the product development team, assisting with debugging and root cause analysis.
  • Stay abreast of latest industry advancements and integrate cutting-edge testing methods and tools.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field plus 2 years' experience in RF and/or mixed-signal semiconductor characterization (or MSEE or related filed +0)
  • Proficiency with characterization equipment like signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, etc.
  • Familiarity with automated test software and scripting languages such as Python, C/C++, etc.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $74,800$135,400 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others.
