Job Description: 

Description

Skyworks is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Test Engineering Co-op student to support the development, validation, and deployment of automated test solutions for advanced RF and wireless semiconductor products. This role provides hands-on experience with Automated Test Equipment (ATE), RF measurements, data analysis, and product qualification activities in a fast-paced engineering environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with Test, Product, Systems, and Applications Engineering teams to support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and manufacturing test solutions.

This is a full-time, in-office Co-op position in Ottawa for a continuous 12-month term from January to December 2027.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and debug of Automated Test Equipment (ATE) programs and hardware.
  • Support test development activities for RF products using COhu Red Dragon, Advantest and National Instruments (NI) platforms.
  • Execute characterization and validation testing to ensure compliance with product specifications.
  • Analyze test data and generate reports to identify trends, improve test coverage, and optimize test performance.
  • Assist with multisite test development and efficiency improvements.
  • Support NPI transfers from engineering development to manufacturing
  • Work with engineering teams to troubleshoot test issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop automation tools and scripts to improve engineering productivity and data analysis.Maintain test documentation, procedures, and engineering records.
  • Participate in design reviews, technical discussions, and project meetings.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of electronics fundamentals and basic RF concepts.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, C#, C++, or LabVIEW.
  • Basic understanding of test and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and signal generators.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Working knowledge of AI for  Test Automation .

Desired Experience and Skills

  • Exposure to RF test techniques and wireless communication systems
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as Python, MATLAB, or Excel
  • Knowledge of semiconductor testing or manufacturing processes
  • Familiarity with PCB design tools, ADS, HFSS, or related simulation software
  • Experience with automation and scripting.
  • Basic understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) concepts.

 

The typical pay range for an intern is currently CAD $25.00 - $44.00 per hour. Starting base pay will depend on level of education and the ultimate job duties and requirements.
