Description
We're looking for a motivated intern/co-op to build agentic AI tools for analog and RF circuit design. You'll work with our software and design teams to apply LLM-based agents to real design work in Si and SOI technologies.
The Software Engineering group in the Mobile Solutions Division builds internal tools for designing, testing, and analyzing leading-edge analog and RF devices for the cellular/mobile industry. As an intern, you'll work alongside software and RF/analog design engineers to prototype AI agents that automate and speed up parts of the design flow, and you'll get regular feedback throughout the project.
- Agentic AI workflows for analog/RF circuit design and optimization
- AI-assisted schematic, simulation, and layout automation in Si and SOI processes
- Retrieval of design knowledge (PDKs, design guides, past projects) using RAG
- Automated analysis of simulation and measurement data, with plots and reports
- Simple, easy-to-use interfaces that let designers work with AI tool
Responsibilities
- Build and test LLM-based agents that work with circuit simulators (e.g., Cadence Spectre/Virtuoso, ADS) to automate design tasks
- Develop RAG pipelines over design documents, PDKs, and internal knowledge
- Prepare and organize simulation and measurement data for AI/ML use
- Measure agent performance on real analog/RF design problems (e.g., LNAs, PAs, switches, bias circuits)
- Document your work and present results to the team
- Take part in code reviews and team meetings
Required Experience and Skills
- Python programming (NumPy, Pandas)
- Familiarity with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic) and agent frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, or similar)
- Basic understanding of analog/RF circuits and Si/SOI device behavior
- Experience using AI coding tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code)
- Plus: experience with Cadence, SKILL/OCEAN scripting, PyTorch, or Docker
Desired Experience and Skills
- Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Coursework or project experience in analog/RF circuit design and/or AI/ML
- Good communication skills
- Eager to learn and able to work well on a team
