Job Description
In this internship opportunity at Skyworks, you will learn and participate in developing advanced, state-of-the-art RF front-end modules, working with seasoned engineering professionals and collaborating with subject matter experts within Skyworks. Not only will you get to know how things work in the industry, but you will also accumulate advanced technical knowledge and skills, valuable experience as well as explore full-time job opportunities at Skyworks. In this experience you will learn about and support manual assembly and rework of multi-chip modules for testing, operating automated test benches, performing basic manual RF tests. You will review test results with Engineers, make modifications of prototypes and retest until performance meets specifications. We are looking for a student who is available for 6 months, from January to May/June 2026.
Required Experience and Skills
- Must be a current student pursuing associates or bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Excellent communication skills, ability to follow verbal and written instructions - IC Package assembly, component soldering, and reworks skills is a plus
- Knowledge and hands on experience with RF test equipment: multi-meter, Spectrum Analyzer, VNA, Oscilloscope, signal generators, power meter, power supplies
- Ability to understand schematics and diagrams
Desired Experience and Skills
- Proficient in basic soldering techniques and PCB rework.
- Experience with design software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
- Knowledge of semiconductor assembly processes and equipment maintenance is an added advantage.
The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
