Job Description


RFIC Design Engineer: responsible for the design and development of RFICs for mobile handset applications. The candidate will work with a group of analog/RF IC design experts in the development of cellular-band ICs that transmit, receive, and/or switch signals to or from antennas. The candidate will interface with design management and module design teams to create detailed specifications, report design progress, and collect, track, and resolve any performance and circuit design issues.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

The candidate must be experienced in transistor-level LNA or RF switch design in Si-based process technology. He or she must understand the basic device physics, have the ability to develop and use advanced linear and nonlinear models or simulation techniques, and be able to translate between the model, simulation, physical implementation, and the measured performance of a device. Good RF and microwave engineering knowledge are required, in order to optimize RF performance of the RFIC. This job also requires experience in simulation tools, and analog and RF circuit test characterization techniques and equipment. The candidate must have good communication skills, be able to break down complex problems, set priorities, report progress, execute to a schedule, and have strong people skills.

Preferred Skills

The candidate should possess the following degree and years of related industry experience:  BS + 2 years, MS + 0 years.  Prior industry internship experience is strongly preferred.  The candidate should be proficient in using ADS or Cadence IC design tools and have hands-on experience with lab measurements and characterization equipment.  Experience in Momentum, EMX, or HFSS is also a strong plus.
