Job Description

In this impactful role, the intern will have the opportunity to combine RFIC design with RF/Microwave electromagnetic simulations to design and optimize RF/Microwave front-end components. Candidates will participate in all phases of the development, including product definition, architecture, system, circuit design, layout, top level simulations and lab debug/optimization.

 Job Requirements:

  • Available from June-November 2021
  • Must be a student, enrolled in a university making forward process towards a Masters or PhD in Electrical Engineering, returning to the academic program following Skyworks Co-Op assignment.
  • Understanding of RF active circuit requirements, including noise, linearity, bandwidth, both small signal and large signal.
  • Strong understanding of microwave/RF fundamentals, such as s-parameters, Smith Charts, matching networks, and transmission lines.  Knowledge in directional couplers, filters, and other passive RF components is a plus.
  • Familiarity with electromagnetic (EM) simulation CAD tools, as well as hands-on experience with both time and frequency domain circuit simulators, such as ADS (Momentum, FEM), Cadence (EMX, Spectre), or HFSS.
  • Experience and familiarity with RF test equipment, including network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, DC power supplies, and RF probes.  Knowledge of network analyzer calibration and reference plane deembedding a plus.
  • Familiarity with on-chip MMIC, CMOS or other active circuit design is a plus.
