We are looking for an   Applications Engineer who will support Skyworks's customers and internal teams (Sales, Marketing, and Design) with Skyworks's world leading Wi-Fi radio components. The position offers a unique perspective on the life cycle of a product, with participation in every step from initial design to use in mass produced customer products. It is both a customer facing and internal technical role.

Responsibilities

Through in-depth product knowledge, provide both pre-sales and post-sales technical support to the company's sales staff and customers. Through customer application knowledge, support design teams with specifications, testing, and data sheet generation. Responsibilities vary from customer to customer and situation to situation - but all situations require strong technical expertise.

Responsibilities include testing newly designed components, providing technical expertise to sales and marketing teams, and supporting customers in their use of Skyworks components in their products - including reviewing/debugging their designs.

Required Experience and Skills

• BS + 8, MS + 6 or PhD + 3 years of experience,
• Five years of radio hardware design or test.
• Solid understanding of RF circuit theory.
• Solid understanding of RF system parameters such as noise figure and linearity, how they affect the radio system, and cascading multiple sub-circuits leads to overall system level behavior.
• Proficient with RF measurements and RF test equipment.
• Familiarity with automation of measurements and data manipulation; and
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills - comfortable working with customers and internal technical teams

Desired Experience and Skills

• Knowledge of Wi-Fi physical layer, particularly the air interface;
• Comfortable creating Python scripts
